About Us

Building Bright Futures

Manor Preschool is based on the site of Knaresborough Children's Centre and has been part of the community for over twenty five years.

We take children from 2 years to age 4. Supporting children's development, independence and curiosity through play, enabling children to transition on to their next steps.

Our children move on to a variety of different primary schools in the area and we will help and support this transition which ever school it may be

We are a home from home setting where the children feel secure and content in their surroundings allowing them to flourish in self esteem and confidence. With a team of highly qualified staff holding a wealth of knowledge and expertise between us, the children are at the forethought of everything we do.

We offer outdoor play all day/year long with the added benefit of our pond/wildlife area allowing us to offer outdoor based learning sessions in a forest school setting. This is a fantastic space for the children to get back to basics with nature. The benefits of accessing this style of provision for children's development and wellbeing are profound. This space is something I feel very passionately about and we have just completed building an outdoor classroom so that we can develop and utilise his space even more.

We provide a hot, nutritious home cooked meal everyday for lunch, allowing the children to be involved with the growing, prepping and cooking of these. This has shown some amazing results and watching the children sit down together and enjoy a healthy meal is hugely rewarding. The children also are offered a café from 10am and 2pm consisting of cereal/toast/crackers/fruit.

We feel it is really important for the children to access the wider world, when possible with staffing and ratios. We have walks to the market for fruit and veg, visits to the library along with monthly visits to a local nursing home for a craft session with the residents. Research has proven this t have many benefits to both child and elderly.

All in all we are a happy, inclusive setting aiming for the best possible outcomes for each individual child.

Philosophy

Education Comes First

Our philosophy is simple - to embrace and provide for all types of learning. We respect the individual needs of all our students and believe that with the right guidance, support and encouragement everyone can succeed. Our educational approach is that children learn best through play. We support children as they explore the world around them.
